My brother was working at Daystar as an audio engineer and said to Joni, “I have a sister who can sing. You should audition her for the team!” Graciously, Joni asked Joe Ninowski to bring me in and my first audition was with Joe and the head of Daystar’s Audio Department, David Ribb. The next thing I knew, I was asked to come back and sing for a conference called, Refreshing Times. Then, amazingly, they kept asking me to come back. The rest is history! Thank God for a big bro looking out for his little sis, God’s perfect timing, and a leader willing to listen to her employee.

My favorite memory as a Daystar Singer will forever be singing in the Holy Land. I remember the first time Joni called me and asked me to go with the team to Israel. I literally screamed and cried tears of joy. It had always been a dream of mine and now it was coming true. There is no way to possibly describe the emotion of singing “Above All” at the Garden of Gethsemane and then to take communion and sing “Rejoice” at the Garden Tomb. It is a humbling, unforgettable experience.

First of all, we have MANY hilarious moments with the team. But the one that sticks out the most is when I was three months pregnant with Jaden and how the smell of sugar would make me so sick. I would uncontrollably vomit as any gracious pregnant woman would in her first trimester. On this particular occasion, we were flying back with the team after ministering in Houston. I was sitting across from Joni in the front of the plane and Bobby was in the back. Unbeknownst to me, the church gave Bobby three large boxes of cupcakes to share with the team on the flight home. Bobby decided it would be a great idea to open the boxes and start passing around the cupcakes. I never saw the cupcakes but the smell rushed to the front of the plane and I must have turned green because Joni, in her motherly way, yelled to the back of the plane, “CLOSE THOSE CUPCAKES!” The look on Bobby’s face as I ran to the restroom was priceless. Sadly, no cupcakes were eaten on the flight home!
